Birthday Gifts For Jesus: Gold
Now Abram was very rich in livestock, in silver, and in gold.
Genesis 13:12 (ESV)
they went to Ophir and brought from there gold, 420 talents, and they brought it to King Solomon.
Genesis 41:42 (ESV)
You shall fall down and worship the gold image that King Nebuchadnezzar has set up; and whoever does not fall down and worship shall be cast immediately into the midst of a burning fiery furnace.
Daniel 3:5-6 (NKJV)
Then and now, among Earth’s greatest treasures, gold holds a unique place… as most clearly associated with good and evil. Gold reflects the best and the worst in us.
Consider a few of its qualities:
Gold is ‘the most malleable of all the metals' (Science Dictionary).
It’s also 'something precious, beautiful, and noble' (Random House Dictionary).
Are we gold to God?
‘He knows the way I take; When He has put me to the test, I will come out as gold’ (Job 23:10).
‘I counsel you to buy from Me gold refined by fire, so that you may be rich’ (Revelation 3:18).
If we’re 'malleable', we can be shaped. The direction of our transformation… whether we’re becoming good or evil, hangs on our choices.
Wise men chose to give their gold to Jesus, a Child, over 2000 years ago. They went the distance in unfamiliar territory to meet the King of kings.
Wise men and women today do the same.
We give in boundless appreciation. We go whatever distance He requires.
After Jesus receives our best (our gold), He redirects our gifts to help others. In addition, our Gracious God gives back to us (givers)… much more than we gave Him. I call it supernatural returns!
Actors, models, and talent for Christ:
Your King gave you another kind of gold: a 'Talent of pure gold' (Exodus 25:39): your performance… in film fashion, music, and theatre; you gift to shine, to entertain others.
By investing your talents in the world, you showcase the riches of your Father.
When fans look closely at the “money trail,” some will discover Jesus as the Source. They’ll decide to bring their gold to Him, too…
And so the trail of gold dust continues...

NOTE: God is my Ghostwriter. If what I write is good, it’s from God. You may see notes to 'Actors, Models & Talent for Christ.' If you think you're not in show business, think again. Shakespeare said, 'All the world's a stage and all its men and women merely players.’ Mostly true. But you're not merely players. You are messengers and ambassadors for the King of kings.
