Rejection: National
Therefore hear, you nations,
And know, O congregation, what is among them.
Hear, O earth!
Behold, I will certainly bring calamity on this people--
The fruit of their thoughts,
Because they have not heeded My Words
Nor My Law, but rejected it.
Jeremiah 6:18-19 (NKJV)
My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge.
Because you have rejected knowledge,
I also will reject you from being priest for Me;
Because you have forgotten the Law of your God,
I also will forget your children.
The more they increased,
The more they sinned against Me;
I will change their glory into shame.
Hosea 4:6-7 (NKJV)
They set up kings, but not by Me;
They made princes, but I did not acknowledge them.
From their silver and gold,
They made idols for themselves--
That they might be cut off.
Hosea 8:4 (NKJV)
A Christian fiction book, The Harbinger, addresses American politics, especially surrounding 9/11.
Its theme? Our nation has rejected God. Therefore, we’ve entered a time of great woe. The author is a Messianic Jew, and he’s not alone in these predictions.
In a preface to the Book of Judges (NKJV, in a Thomas Nelson), it says,
“This Book could also appropriately be titled the 'Book of Failure'... as the nation's spiritual temperature grows steadily colder.”
Long ago, that nation was Israel, and the failing people were God's children. They had two problems:
1) Unchallenged and entrenched Idolatry:
'They played the harlot with other gods, and bowed down to them. They turned quickly from the way in which their fathers walked, in obeying the Commandments of the Lord; they did not do so' (Judges 2:17).
2) Pervasive moral relativity:
'Everyone did what was right in his own eyes' (Judges 17:6). The Book of Judges concludes the same way: 'In those days there was no king in Israel; everyone did what was right in his own eyes' (Judges 21:25).
What does moral relativity mean? * It's every man’s personal opinion of what’s good or bad, and what’s right or wrong. These factors include:
Our political affiliations.
Our families, friends, backgrounds, and culture.
Our faith or the growing group, known as “None”.
Our schools, work, or the places we frequent.
NOTE:
Even Christians have differing values.
But… if you believe and follow Jesus, if you believe and respect the Bible:
The Father defines,
The Son illustrates,
The Spirit teaches…
What’s right and what’s wrong.
It’s not relative. It’s not changeable. It’s not dependent on circumstances.
'Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever' (Hebrews 13:8).
'Heaven and earth will pass away, but My Words will by no means pass away' (Matthew 24:35).
The Word of our God stands forever' (Isaiah 40:8).
Fellow saints: Let’s ask ourselves these questions:
Will the United States stand forever?
Is it cruising for a bruising– or worse?
What can deeply committed Christians do?
Should we rant, rave, and wave our picket signs?
Or should we point God’s searchlight on ourselves?
On our own moral relativity?
Once seen, can we repent and try again?
Can we join our hands and hearts in His love…
Praying for our leaders and our nation?
'Who can tell if God will turn and relent, and turn away from His fierce anger, so that we may not perish?' (Jonah 3:9).*

NOTE: God is my Ghostwriter. If what I write is good, it’s not from me. It’s God. You may see notes to 'Actors, Models & Talent for Christ.' If you think you're not in show business, think again. Shakespeare said, 'All the world's a stage and all its men and women merely players. Mostly true. But you're not merely players. You are messengers and ambassadors for the King of kings.
