Rejection: Why We Must Expect It
He is despised and rejected by men,
A Man of sorrows and acquainted with grief.
And we hid, as it were, our faces from Him;
He was despised, and we did not esteem Him.
Isaiah 53:3 (NKJV)
He came to His own, and His own did not receive Him.
John 1:11 (NKJV)
If you were of the world, the world would love its own. Yet because you are not of the world, but I chose you out of the world, therefore the world hates you. Remember the Word that I said to you, A servant is not greater than his master… If they persecuted Me, they will also persecute you.
John 15:19-20 (NKJV)
If Jesus, our Leader, was rejected, and if we’re following Him (as we should)… then, certainly, we must expect the same. His measuring stick? If the world loves us, then we’re bound to be doing something wrong:(
Actors, models, and talent for Christ:
Where will your rise in media take you?
Where does your standing up and out place you?
Shining on the enemy’s radar screen!
Since ‘The prince of the power of the air’ believes entertainment belongs to him…
It also leaves you where Jesus went first: carrying a cross.
'If anyone desires to come after Me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross daily, and follow Me' (Luke 9:23).
Just the thought of carrying a cross HURTS.
Even so, Jesus took the sting away: 'Oh death, where is your sting' (1 Corinthians 15:55). As His followers, you might take a punch, but YOU WILL NOT FAIL.
With your head skyward, and your feet earthward, with your arms extended from east to west, you bear the duty of your Commission.
You carry a message of love and hope. The massive muddy mess of media makes your duty especially compelling.
Certainly, far easier paths exist. Christian performers can stay close to home: perform in church and local productions. The chances of rejection are smaller. Is that a big enough cross to carry?
That answer is between you and Jesus, but be aware (and beware) the broad path. In America, being a Christian helps politicians get into office, salesmen get clients, and preachers get rich.
But… performing in the world is HARDER.
If you don't rise to this hard occasion and show lost fans the Star YOU watch… who will?

NOTE: God is my Ghostwriter. If what I write is good, it’s not from me. It’s God. You may see notes to 'Actors, Models & Talent for Christ.' If you think you're not in show business, think again. Shakespeare said, 'All the world's a stage and all its men and women merely players. Mostly true. But you're not merely players. You are messengers and ambassadors for the King of kings. This series is a re-write of a prior 2014 series.
