Pilgrims, Sojourners, Ambassadors
Blessed is the man whose strength is in You, whose heart is set on pilgrimage.
Psalm 84:5 (NKJV)
Hear my prayer, O Lord, and give ear to my cry; Do not be silent at my tears; For I am a stranger with You, a sojourner, as all my fathers were.
Psalm 39:12 (NKJV)
Now then, we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God were pleading through us.
2 Corinthians 5:20 (NKJV)
A pilgrim is 'a traveler or wanderer, especially in a foreign place.' *
Actors, models, and talent for Christ: You are pilgrims… traveling the fields of entertainment!
A sojourn is a 'temporary stay.'
Actors, models, and talent for Christ: You are sojourners! Your time in this world is temporary.
An ambassador is 'an accredited diplomat sent by a country as its official representative to a foreign country.'
Actors, models, and talent for Christ: You are ambassadors! Especially, GOOD NEWS ambassadors.
Knowing these titles, remember two things (that the devil would prefer you forget):
Your true country. Since your 'Citizenship is in Heaven' (Philippians 3:20), Earth will never be your permanent home. You’re here on a short-term working visa.
Your true job: 'Go into all the world and preach the Good News to all creation' (Mark 16:15). 'Therefore, go and make disciples of all nations' (Matthew 28:19).
Contrary to popular opinion, your job isn’t about worldly success. Nor is it hanging out with your homies (sitting comfortably in familiar pews).
Actors, models, and talent for Christ; pilgrims, sojourners, and ambassadors: Yes, you were born here. Nevertheless, Earth remains foreign soil. Your titles and purpose boil down to this:
You’re God’s messengers, commissioned on a goodwill assignment of vast importance.
Your talents make you communicators… expressly in the fields of media. They’re competitive and cover the earth. Many label these fields ENTERTAINMENT. Others prefer the fields called “BREAKING NEWS.”
I see them this way: INFLUENTIAL HYPE. Their purpose? To capture minds, hopes, hearts, dreams, and money.
Nevertheless, God is working these fields to His purpose and that’s why He calls you ACTORS, MODELS & TALENT FOR CHRIST.
Within media’s fields, you rise as stars, reflecting His Light.
But in the meantime (this IS a mean time)... while you're carrying the truth of your Lord, be careful not to get carried away by the spinners of entertaining tales. How can you stay safe?
Always, keep your eye on your Commander.
Always, keep listening to His channels.
Always, keep meeting Him in the Bible, in prayer, and fellowship with other pilgrims, sojourners, and ambassadors for the Living God.
