Suffering: Abuse, Like Some Children Do*

See that you do not despise one of these little ones. For I tell you that in heaven their angels always see the face of My Father Who is in Heaven.

Matthew 18:10 (ESV)

Jesus said, “Let the children come to me. Don’t stop them! For the Kingdom of Heaven belongs to those who are like these children.”

Matthew 19:14 (NLT)

The despicable abuse of children crosses all economic, historic, national, and cultural boundaries.

For people of good conscience everywhere, child abuse is a heart-wrenching problem.

While uncounted kids in poorer nations suffer poverty, abuse, and neglect, richer countries shouldn't get complacent.  Reprehensible tragedies happen behind closed doors that need to be opened.*

Clearly, children are special to Jesus. He not only identifies with them, but teaches us we must BECOME LIKE THEM! Their faith, simplicity, and lack of guile are entry cards to the kingdom of God.

Actors, models, and talent for Christ:

On the platforms of modern media, you're in key positions TO LEAD LOST LAMBS! Inarguably, it’s a crucial role, and churches that don’t embrace it are blind.

Earth is filled with stressed-out, busy parents.

  • The best of them are simply spread too thin to properly supervise their children.

  • The worst of them are thugs and pretenders who belittle, abuse, or mislead them.

One thing’s for sure: they’re NOT good examples… and as all of creation testifies, babies and children learn by copying!

That’s the open door you’re called to enter! Kids can COPY YOU! You know how they love and track media– and especially their favorite stars…

So rise to the roles you were born to live! Be on-screen examples of “the high life.” Point them toward the True and Lasting Star! Model a lifestyle of hope, faith, and love.

NOTE: God is my Ghostwriter. If what I write is good, it’s from God! We’re ALL called to be actors (action stars) for Jesus. We’re ALL called to models of Jesus, and we ALL have gifts, talents, and callings from God–  to multiply them in the world for His glory.

P.S. NO DEVOTION, PREACHER, or SERMON… can begin to replace personal time in the Bible. I wholeheartedly and clear-headedly recommend READING THE BIBLE DAILY.

WARNING: Don’t focus on favorite verses, because out of context, they’re often misinterpreted. I plead with you to READ AT LEAST 1 BIBLE CHAPTER DAILY. How long does it take? An average of 5 to 10 minutes!
