Trailblazers: Bring Chain Cutters

The Spirit of the Lord God is upon me, because the Lord has anointed me to bring good news to the poor; He has sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives, and the opening of the prison to those who are bound…

Now the Lord is the Spirit, and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom.

2 Corinthians 3:17 (ESV)

God is the Master Who does NOT use chains:

  • No bars or handcuffs,

  • No forced conscription,

  • No mean prison guard,

  • No pushy parent,

  • No harsh gang leader,

  • No bullying boss,

  • No sly seducer,

  • No sneaky contract,

  • No financial grab,

  • No guilt or shaming

God is the Author of freedom of choice: 'I have set before you life and death, blessing and cursing; therefore choose life, that both you and your descendants may live' (Deuteronomy 30:19). He’s crystal clear about the good or bad result of each godly or sinful choice.

NOTE: Nevertheless, He gives us, His children, the right to choose (like the Prodigal Son). 

Satan is the author of corruption, which includes CONFUSING freedom of choice: 'If You will worship before me, all will be Yours' (Luke 4:7). He neglected to mention that glory, power and wealth would be temporary– passing away in the blink of an eye.

Among Satan's devious titles are…’The tempter'' (Matthew 4:3), 'The accuser' (Revelation 12:10), 'The father of lies' (John 8:44), 'The god of this world' (2 Corinthians 4:4) and 'The prince of the power of the air' (Ephesians 2:2).

Actors, models, and talent for Christ:

NOTE: The “air” happens to be YOUR playing field: the place your talents propel you to join.

'You, brethren, have been called to liberty' (Galatians 5:13). While you’re walking in the freedom of Christ, don't forget to carry your chain cutters. They’re not for you, since you’re ALREADY free! ‘ ‘If the Son sets you free, you are truly free’ (John 8:36)! 

NOTE: Your chain cutters are quite unusual, because the jailer is hell’s president.

Among them are 'Love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness' and 'self-control' (Galatians 5:22-23).

What chains do they cut? Invisible lines spun by the spider! They hold us more effectively than iron: 'Immorality, impurity, sensuality, idolatry, sorcery, enmities, strife, jealousy, outbursts of anger, disputes, dissensions, factions, envying, drunkenness, carousing, and things like these' (Galatians 5:19-21).

You can't cut through them with mean-mouthed judgment. Because hatred makes people shrink back or fight back.

NOTE: When people don’t know they're in jail,

  • When they don’t know why they feel unhappy,

  • When they don't know why they can’t move forward,

  • When they’ve never experienced freedom,

  • Or been shown the only Way to get there– THEN OFFER THEM LOVE!

Because 'Love never fails' (1 Corinthians 13:8)... especially in the breaking of chains! It’s your ULTIMATE trail-blazing power!
