Giving: Its Importance

Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of Lights, with Whom there is no variation or shadow due to change.

James 1:17 (ESV)

Give is a verb, which means it’s an ACTION: “a thing that is done, and not merely thought or spoken about.”

  • Also note– give is a TRANSITIVE verb: “verbs that take an object, a receiver of the action.” Therein, Christians give to God and people.

  • “Give” appears over 1400 times in the Word of God– twice as much as “love”.

Word lover’s SIDEBAR: “Go” is the only other action verb that comes close, but it’s still used less than “give”.

What can we conclude?

The act of giving is crucial to God. It’s an ACTION COMMAND Christians must heed.

And yet God, the Supreme and Perfect Judge.

  • Who orders and exemplifies justice,

  • Who, beyond doubt, abhors hypocrisy

  • (Especially in those who bear His Name)...

  • Will NOTE tell us to do something He doesn’t.

Therein, God is the Ultimate Giver. He gave us life and the life of His Son.

Actors, models, and talent for Christ:

This life and death commandment needs study– specifically, biblical wisdom…of who, what, when, where, why, and how to give.

I have seen, and I know, you ARE givers.

Giving: Its Importance (Part 1)

NOTE: God is my Ghostwriter. If what I write is good, it’s from God. You may see notes to 'Actors, Models & Talent for Christ.' If you think you're not in show business, think again. Shakespeare said, 'All the world's a stage and all its men and women merely players.’ Mostly true. But you're not merely players. You are messengers and ambassadors for the King of kings.
