Soldier's Orders: Stop It Now

Take my yoke upon you, and learn from me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls.

Matthew 11:29 (ESV)

To hobble a horse is to bind a foot. It teaches him submission and patience, re-enforces his master's leadership, and helps him learn to be calm (not to panic) in difficult times or emergencies.*

To fully submit to our Master's yoke, many Christians need hobble training, too. How and where we walk are crucial to God. Because the way we move helps determine… our earthly and eternal destinies!

When our Captain came to Earth as a Man, He taught us the ultimate Model's Walk.

'When His disciples saw Him walking on the sea' (Matthew 14:26), when they saw 'The lame walk' (Matthew 11:5), they began to see the way they must walk… that would redefine their lives forever.

They were instructed (which means, we are, too):

  • 'To walk in the same manner as He walked' (1 John 2:6),

  • To walk 'Blamelessly' (Luke 1:6),

  • To 'Walk orderly' (Acts 21:24),

  • To 'Walk in [the] newness of life' (Romans 6:4);

  • To 'Walk in the Spirit' (Galatians 5:16),

  • To 'Walk by faith, not by sight' (2 Corinthians 5:7),

  • To 'Walk in wisdom' (Colossians 4:5), and most importantly…

  • To 'Walk in love, as Christ also has loved us and given Himself for us' (Ephesians 5:2).

Actors, models, and talent for Christ:

  • If you’re walking in fault or compromise,

  • If you running for fame (instead of God),

  • If you’re hanging with misdirected friends… STOP IT NOW.

  • If you are bucking your hoofs like a wild horse,

  • If you are prancing in pride like a show horse,

  • If you’re drifting around like a lost horse,

  • If you’re going solo like a lone horse… STOP IT NOW.

Submit to God’s Word. Wear His yoke gladly and if you don’t, expect to be hobbled. You're in God's army. Ironically, His yoke is freedom. 'Therefore humble yourselves under the mighty Hand of God, that He may exalt you in due time' (1 Peter 5:6).

Soldier's Orders: Stop It Now (Part 25)

NOTE: God is my Ghostwriter. If what I write is good, it’s from God. You may see notes to 'Actors, Models & Talent for Christ.' If you think you're not in show business, think again. Shakespeare said, 'All the world's a stage and all its men and women merely players.’ Mostly true. But you're not merely players. You are messengers and ambassadors for the King of kings.
