Soldier's Orders: Refusal To Judge

God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved.

John 3:17 (NKJV)

Whatever our posting in God’s army, we follow Jesus, salvation's Captain, and obey God, our Commander-in-Chief.

  • Concerning the Former, the Cross He bore placed Him higher than any man on Earth.

  • Concerning the Latter, even the stars recognize His divine sovereignty..

Among their all-seeing authority, perfect Hands record our service records: both valiant moments and grievous mistakes.

In U.S. armies, when a soldier is accused of a crime, he’s tried in a specialized court martial: a trial ruled by military law.

In the world at large, when a person is accused of a crime, he’s tried in an official court of law: a trial ruled by governmental laws.

In all courts, qualified judges preside. But…

In no court are unqualified judges invited to rule or to call the shots. (Clearly, many of us do anyway.)

  • In sports, opinionated outsiders cheer or condemn players and officials.

  • In life, opinionated outsiders cheer or condemn the “playbooks” of others.

Actors, models, and talent for Christ:

Give up the gavel. Guilt or innocence is NEVER your call. Nor is it the call of any Christian! When we judge others, WE may take the fall:

'For in the same way you judge others, you will be judged' (Matthew 7:2).

In the Entertainment Industry, opinionated judges surround us: hundreds of “talking heads” sharing “verdicts”... in what is improperly labeled NEWS.

In the meccas of social media, opinionated posts overwhelm us: hordes of internet influencers who judge everything, everywhere, every day.

Both are fast-paced, gut-wrenching “people-courts.” Unbiased truth can be as hard to find as a golden sunbeam in a rainstorm.

Actors, models, and talent for Christ:

You carry the Truth. Even so, you can’t see straight to the heart. No one has God’s panoramic vision, with clear sight of past, present, and future.

Avoid the Christian temptation to judge. Putting others down will NOT lift us up, except to our own soon-to-come trials. 'For we shall all stand before the judgment seat of Christ' (Romans 14:10).

NOTE: God is my Ghostwriter. If what I write is good, it’s from God. You may see notes to 'Actors, Models & Talent for Christ.' If you think you're not in show business, think again. Shakespeare said, 'All the world's a stage and all its men and women merely players.’ Mostly true. But you're not merely players. You are messengers and ambassadors for the King of kings.
