Soldier's Orders: Submission To Government
Let everyone be subject to the governing authorities, for there is no authority except that which God has established. The authorities that exist have been established by God. Consequently, whoever rebels against the authority is rebelling against what God has instituted, and those who do so will bring judgment on themselves.
Romans 12:1-2 (NIV)
Consider Joseph in Egypt, Daniel in Babylon, and Esther in Persia. Each Bible hero rose to prominence in strange governments with unseemly laws.
How did God’s heroes respond to these laws? Rules were respected. Kings were affected. Countless lives were saved.
Consider Jesus in Jerusalem. He faced leading priests and Rome’s governor: leaders steeped in religiosity, immorality, idols, and power. Rules were respected. Priests were affected. Countless lives were saved– then and forever!
Actors, models, and talent for Christ:
Consider yourselves in entertainment: an industry built on story-telling, money-making, idol-building, and fame. In it, honesty is conditional. Corruption is habitual. Purity is sadly unusual, and your entrance is wholly essential.
Like your Captain, you go: to the people.
To stay hunkered down within self-righteous congregations is absolutely wrong.
To go unto all nations in the truth of Jesus Christ is absolutely right.
Even so, know this: media is a strange government ruled by 'The prince of the power of the air' (Ephesians 2:2).
How can you best rep Christ inside of it?
Respect its rules to affect its rulers! And when you do, God will elevate you, just like He did for His stars before. Countless lives will be saved… eternally!
'Submit yourselves for the Lord's sake to every human institution, whether to a king as the one in authority, or to governors as sent by Him... For such is the will of God that by doing right you may silence the ignorance of foolish men. Act as free men, and do not use your freedom as a covering for evil, but use it as bondslaves of God. Honor all people, love the brotherhood, fear God, honor the king' (1 Peter 2:13-17).
Joseph, Daniel, and Esther respected the cultures, laws, and the kings of their times, but they never sold out their First True Love– and neither will you! But to win it, you've got to get in it.

NOTE: God is my Ghostwriter. If what I write is good, it’s from God. You may see notes to 'Actors, Models & Talent for Christ.' If you think you're not in show business, think again. Shakespeare said, 'All the world's a stage and all its men and women merely players.’ Mostly true. But you're not merely players. You are messengers and ambassadors for the King of kings.
