Becoming: Becoming Bad

Enter through the narrow gate. For wide is the gate and broad is the road that leads to destruction, and many enter through it.

Matthew 7:13 (NIV)

That you may become blameless and harmless, children of God without fault in the midst of a crooked and perverse generation, among whom you shine as lights in the world…

Philippians 2:15 (NKJV)

Are people born bad? Do they “become” bad? Where do generational curses stop and our Father’s gracious blessings begin?

How does predestination factor in? Is it possible to lose salvation? Thoughtful Christians debate questions like these, but one thing is sure: OUR CHOICES MATTER.

  • 'Then Moses stood in the entrance of the camp, and said, 'Whoever is on the Lord's side--come to me!' ' (Exodus 32:26).

  • 'I have set before you life and death, blessing and cursing; therefore choose life, that both you and your descendants may live' (Deuteronomy 30:19).

  • 'Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest' (Matthew 11:28).

  • 'But you are not willing to come to Me that you may have life' (John 5:40).

If our lives are developing dramas, consider four UNdebatable truths:

  1. Every choice leads toward God or away: toward good or evil, helping or harm.

  2. No matter how many times you mess up, continue to fess up… and try again.

  3. Becoming bad (or good) is a process. If life is a school, you’re still a student.

  4. Jesus and the Holy Spirit of God ARE EAGER to Personally teach you!

Therefore remember:

  • Do not 'Become estranged from Christ' (Galatians 5:4).

  • 'You were bought at a price; do not become slaves of men' (1 Corinthians 7:23), 'And do not become idolaters' (1 Corinthians 10:7).

  • Do not 'Become dull of hearing' (Hebrews 5:11), and 'Do not become sluggish, but imitate those who through faith and patience inherit the promises' (Hebrews 6:12),

  • ‘For consider Him Who endured such hostility from sinners against Himself, lest you become weary and discouraged in your souls' (Hebrews 12:3).

  • Do not 'Become conceited, provoking one another, envying one another' Galatians 5:26), 'Lest any root of bitterness springing up cause trouble, and by this many become defiled' (Hebrews 12:15). 'Have you not shown partiality among yourselves, and become judges with evil thoughts?' (James 2:4).

  • 'Fathers, do not provoke your children, lest they become discouraged' (Colossians 3:21), and consequently 'Become orphans and waifs' (Lamentations 5:3). Friends,

  • 'Do not be among those who give pledges, among those who become guarantors for debts' (Proverbs 22:26).

God shows you many things you should become, but bad is never-ever among them.

Becoming: Bad (Part 4)

NOTE: God is my Ghostwriter. If what I write is good, it’s from God. You may see notes to 'Actors, Models & Talent for Christ.' If you think you're not in show business, think again. Shakespeare said, 'All the world's a stage and all its men and women merely players.’ Mostly true. But you're not merely players. You are messengers and ambassadors for the King of kings.
