Losers: A Pervasive Misunderstanding

Do not lay up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust destroy and where thieves break in and steal.

Matthew 6:19 (NKJV)

Work will be shown for what it is, because the Day will bring it to light. It will be revealed with fire, and the fire will test the quality of each person’s work.

1 Corinthians 3:13 (NIV)

Winners are revered and celebrated. Winners rule the world and form its values. Winners stake their claim in all of Earth’s fields, including:

  • Government: Dictators, presidents, and ministers

  • Education: Deans, regents, professors, and principals

  • Business: Owners, CEOs, moguls, and bosses

  • Religion: Popes, pastors, rabbis, imams, and gurus

  • Crime: Gang leaders, drug lords, and mafia dons

  • Entertainment: Directors, producers, and major stars

Awards, applause, crowns, wealth, fame, fans, and perks are the fringe benefits winners enjoy, along with the power of leadership: deciding good or bad, and right or wrong.. for people who choose (or MUST) follow them.

But what all winners come to discover... is that the “power” they hold isn’t theirs. As they try to grip and stand on the wins, their “winning” positions come to own THEM! Aside from temporary distractions, they feel empty, incomplete, and joyless.

Actors, models, and talent for Christ:

Refuse to desire entertainment’s “perks”. When you win a big role or golden globe, humble yourself and give glory to God, ‘For it is God Who works in you to will and to act, in order to fulfill His good purpose’ (Philippians 2:13).

Man’s misunderstandings about winning must NOT become your misunderstandings. Your Father’s plans for you require clear minds.

(P.S. The visible perks that “winners” display for people to see, admire, and envy… will soon be revealed as worthless ashes.)

NOTE: God is my Ghostwriter. If what I write is good, it’s from God. You may see notes to 'Actors, Models & Talent for Christ.' If you think you're not in show business, think again. Shakespeare said, 'All the world's a stage and all its men and women merely players.’ Mostly true. But you're not merely players. You are messengers and ambassadors for the King of kings.
