Nebuchadnezzar the king,
To all peoples, nations, and languages that dwell in all the earth:

“Peace be multiplied to you.
I thought it good to declare the signs and wonders that the Most High God has worked for me.
How great are His signs,
And how mighty His wonders!
His kingdom is an everlasting kingdom,
And His dominion is from generation to generation.”

Actors, models, and talent for Christ:

Oh, what a special role is asked of you: to work for God in a land of idols– but not to PRIZE them, not to COPY them, and not to BE them.

Surely, the entertainment industry is filled with idols. But not only there. (Throughout the ages, idolatry has been a pandemic… sneakier and more deadly than COVID.)

Understandably, many Christians are appalled by idols, pointing their fingers and hunkering down.

Consequently, they did not 'Go, therefore...' (Matthew 28:19) and ignored their jobs as ambassadors.

On the other hand,

Many churches created THEIR OWN idols.

  • Pastors became stars. They shined THEIR OWN light.

  • They made their own rules. They wrote THEIR OWN books.

  • But can any Christian 'Serve two masters' (Matthew 6:24, Luke 16:13)?

To my cloistered kin: Our Commander in Chief clearly sends us… to shine HIS Light and NOT to cover up: 'No one lights a lamp and puts it in a place where it will be hidden' (Luke 11:33).

Some might say, “We invite people to church,” but that’s not enough. We ARE the church… going to all nations. God’s Spirit goes with us and protects us.

If Jesus is the Great Deliverer, media offers quick delivery. God allowed it, 'For such a time as this' (Esther 4:14).

Actors, models, and talent for Christ:

As God told Joshua (repeatedly) when he was entering the Promised Land: a land of strong kings and giant people:

'Have I not commanded you? Be strong and of good courage; do not be afraid, nor be dismayed, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go' (Joshua 1:9).

  • By Him, you can 'Go unto all nations,' traveling the world at the speed of light.

  • By Him, you can rise and shine for Jesus, multiplying the talents God gave you.

  • By Him, you can raise His loving standard and be gracious, positive examples.

  • By Him, you can work alongside idols, be perfectly safe, and do what you love.

  • By Him, you can give spiritual fruit and the Bread of Life to starving people.

  • By Him, idols will crumble to reveal the people who were trapped, but didn’t know it.

  • By Jesus in you, captives will be freed, eyes will be opened, and lives will be saved!

Jesus, the Man, gave all glory to God. So will you. Idolatry? No problem!

* Although King Nebuchadnezzar of Babylon (the most powerful king in the most powerful nation on Earth at the time), was fully idolatrous, Daniel and friends NEVER worshipped idols during their flourishing lives there. Their examples changed the king. Therein, the king changed his nation and the world at that time by praising the God of Heaven!
