The Call To Overcome: Feeling Unqualified?

Remember, dear brothers and sisters, that few of you were wise in the world’s eyes or powerful or wealthy when God called you. Instead, God chose things the world considers foolish in order to shame those who think they are wise. And he chose things that are powerless to shame those who are powerful. God chose things despised by the world, things counted as nothing at all, and used them to bring to nothing what the world considers important. As a result, no one can ever boast in the presence of God.

1 Corinthians 1:26-29 (NLT)

When God called Jeremiah to serve Him, young Jeremiah saw himself as small, insignificant, and unqualified.

When God called David to become a king, Samuel (the prophet) saw David as small, insignificant, and unqualified.

To God, inexperience means nothing! 'Your troops will be willing on your day of battle. Arrayed in holy splendor, your young men will come to you like dew from the morning's womb' (Psalm 110:3).

When God called Abraham to a new life, he was old, settled, and unqualified. ‘Now the Lord had said to Abram: ‘Get out of your country, from your family, and from your father’s house, to a land that I will show you. I will make you a great nation; I will bless you and make your name great’ ’ (Genesis 12:1-2).

When God called Moses to be His shepherd, he was old, frightened, and unqualified. 'Moses said to the Lord, 'Pardon your servant... I am slow of speech and tongue' ' (Exodus 4:10).

But Abraham and Moses weren't too old. Neither was 85-year-old Caleb: 'I am as strong this day as on the day that Moses sent me; just as my strength was then, so now is my strength for war…' (Joshua 14:11-12).

When Jesus called His first 12 disciples, they were humble men. They weren't priests, scholars, or high achievers…

But they surpassed all Earth's most notable men! Because the Lord, Himself, qualified them.*

Actors, models, and talent for Christ:

  • By the King of kings, you ARE qualified.

  • By your heart, talent, and humility, you ARE qualified.

  • Your quality is gold from the King's bank.

‘The prince of the power of the air’ (Ephesians 2:2) WON’T overcome you. You’ll overcome him! You’ll climb the grand mountains of media. Its reigning VIPs will welcome you… for reasons they may not understand (yet).

The Call To Overcome: Feeling Unqualified? (Part 5)

* 'God has chosen the foolish things of the world to shame the wise, and God has chosen the weak things of the world to shame the things which are strong, and the base things of the world and the despised God has chosen, the things that are not, so that He may nullify the things that are, so that no man may boast before God' (1 Corinthians 1:27-29).

** 'Nations will come to your light and kings to the brightness of your rising' (Isaiah 60:3).

NOTE: God is my Ghostwriter. If what I write is good, it’s from God. You may see notes to 'Actors, Models & Talent for Christ.' If you think you're not in show business, think again. Shakespeare said, 'All the world's a stage and all its men and women merely players.’ Mostly true. But you're not merely players. You are messengers and ambassadors for the King of kings.
