Christian Pitfalls: Sorcery

Do not turn to mediums or seek out spiritists, for you will be defiled by them. I am the Lord your God.

Leviticus 19:31 (NIV)

When someone tells you to consult mediums and spiritists, who whisper and mutter, should not a people inquire of their God? Why consult the dead on behalf of the living?

Isaiah 8:19 (NIV)

The last two chapters of Revelation, the Word of God’s dramatic conclusion, describe the new Earth: what it will look like, those who will be there--and those who will not!

They’re thrilling, frightening, and coming SOON. Certainly, we’re wise to read and prepare.

But the infallible finality of Heaven (and especially, of hell) is so hard to grasp--as are The Lord’s absolute divisions:

  • Sheep from goats, wheat from tares, right from wrong, light from darkness, blessings from curses, obedience from rebellion, fruitful lives from barren ones, and true believers from “showy” hypocrites.

Were it not for the righteousness of Christ, no one from Earth could stand in God's presence!

'Indeed, there is not a righteous man on earth who continually does good and who never sins' (Ecclesiastes 7:20).

Satan wants us to remember these Words, forget Jesus--and never know the Truth!

For him, holiness is a hopeless cause. So he wants us to think it’s hopeless, too. To further this goal:

  • He dresses up evil… and calls it good.

  • He serves up sorcery… and calls it fun.

Actors, models, and talent for Christ:

YOU reveal the power of holiness! It stands in defiance of sorcery, because tragic trickery always fails!

Here’s a bright spot, in terms of media. Books like the Chronicles of Narnia… distinctly separate good from evil– and a legendary Christian wrote them!

Regarding your own performance choices:

  1. Pray before accepting “magical” roles.

  2. Be certain the messaging is hopeful.

NOTE: God is my Ghostwriter. If what I write is good, it’s from God. You may see notes to 'Actors, Models & Talent for Christ.' If you think you're not in show business, think again. Shakespeare said, 'All the world's a stage and all its men and women merely players.’ Mostly true. But you're not merely players. You are messengers and ambassadors for the King of kings.
