Christian Pitfalls: Individualism
In those days there was no king in Israel; everyone did what was right in his own eyes.
Judges 21:25 (NKJV)
'Why do the nations rage, and the people plot a vain thing?' (Psalm 2:1). Because in rooms with a limited view, uninformed people plot and do vain things.
At best, we see through personal pinholes, perfectly epitomized by smartphones, where we glimpse the world in pocket-size peeps: brief views and thoughts of individuals.
On the other Hand (explicitly God’s), He sees the ENTIRETY of the world: the entirety of our intentions, the entirety of all creation, with all past, present, and future knowledge.
He puts it this way:
'As the heavens are higher than the earth, so are My ways higher than your ways, and My thoughts than your thoughts' (Isaiah 55:9).
Without God’s vision, we’re simply children– boldly believing we understand life, but few among us accept the label of “children”–much less “sheep.” Therefore…
Earth is plagued with individualism: 'The action or principle of asserting one's independence and individuality; egoism' (World English Dictionary); 'self-centered feeling' (Etymology Dictionary).
Self-centered feelings spark a condition aptly called moral relativity,* where we decide right and wrong for ourselves. The result? Countless opinions. Countless divisions.
With ten thousand PLUS denominations, the bride of Christ is split for ALL to see. Rules vary. Fires ignite. Foul odors of superiority become a foul smell lost sheep won’t follow.
Actors, models, and talent for Christ:
You’re called to be the 'Aroma of Christ' (2 Corinthians 2:15): a breath of fresh air in a dying world!
Christ’s last prayer was for our unity: 'That they all may be one, as You, Father, are in Me, and I in You.
Individualism (or egoism) is normal in the world– and tragically normal in the church. 'These things ought not to be' (James 3:10).
For a great purpose, you’ve been commissioned: a united front in media’s fields.
On the outside, you’re individuals: cool and intriguing.
On the inside, you resemble Jesus: warm and engaging…
With kind eyes, gentle smiles, and open arms– inviting others…
Reaching out in a beautiful concert!

NOTE: God is my Ghostwriter. If what I write is good, it’s from God. You may see notes to 'Actors, Models & Talent for Christ.' If you think you're not in show business, think again. Shakespeare said, 'All the world's a stage and all its men and women merely players.’ Mostly true. But you're not merely players. You are messengers and ambassadors for the King of kings.
