The Taylor Swift Effect: The Purpose Of Fame

Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in heaven.

Matthew 5:16 (NKJV)

Back in the days of AMTC Shine, we hosted 100s of talent searches in cities throughout North America… for courageous Christians called to the fields of film, fashion, music, and theatre. Billboards and radio used strange, new words:

Actors, Models & Talent for Christ,

Be Famous For God!

I believe YOU understand the message (as did other rising and shining saints)... but some “traditional” churches didn’t. Our greatest detractors weren’t outsiders– but rather, judgmental church insiders. The “holier-than-thou” headwinds we faced?

  • We received condemnatory letters, accusing Shine of “cashing in” on God.

  • They said modern media was evil, and Christians should never enter those fields,

  • That fame impedes Christian humility… but wasn’t Jesus, as a Man, famous?

  • Didn’t His disciples become famous, and use it to glorify their Savior?

Therein, consider:

Taylor’s fame has had POSITIVE effects in a cruel world filled with lonely hearts. But your pending fame can do SO MUCH MORE… in leading lonely sheep to their Shepherd!

Isn’t that great effect worth everything?

Like wealth, fame isn’t inherently bad. Yes, “loving” either can surely cause harm, but I’m certain for you… fame is just a tool to help publicize the Ultimate Star! It’s a by-product of excellent work

Therein DO become famous for Jesus… in God’s grand bait and switch operation!

The Taylor Swift Effect: Fame (Part 19, Conclusion)

NOTE: God is my Ghostwriter. If what I write is good, it’s from God. You may see notes to 'Actors, Models & Talent for Christ.' If you think you're not in show business, think again. Shakespeare said, 'All the world's a stage and all its men and women merely players.’ Mostly true. But you're not merely players. You are messengers and ambassadors for the King of kings.
