Poor People: Appear Insignificant
He had no beauty or majesty to attract us to Him, nothing in His appearance that we should desire Him.
Isaiah 53:2 (NIV)
Who would imagine the Prince of Heaven would choose to appear so ordinary?
That He would come, not like the God He is, but take the stage as a helpless Infant!
That He would lay aside His majesty to example utter simplicity!
Therein, never let the world deceive you: Poor people may look insignificant… but that’s a silly, surface-level read.
To God, they're not just discounted masses, but UNIQUE PERSONS needing to be seen.
To God, fans aren't just frivolous groupies, but LOST LAMBS longing for the right leader.
To God, consumers aren't just dollar signs, but HUNGRY HEARTS hoping for fulfillment.
To God, refugees aren't just a nuisance, but CRYING CHILDREN begging for shelter.
To Jesus, a poor widow was wealthy. She gave the temple's largest donation.
To Jesus, she was noted and valued. Her generous heart was “all in” to God.
To Jesus, I give my undying thanks, because His death covers my deficits.
Here's the thing: I still need to “get poorer.” I must decrease and die more to myself. I'm not yet… insignificant enough.
Actors, models, and talent for Christ:
You now rise in an unusual field. Media requires your “magnetic” shine. As you reflect Christ, fans are drawn to you!
But don't ever believe YOU own the shine. Continue to give God all the glory.
Poor People: Appear Insignificant (Part 8)
NOTE: God is my Ghostwriter. If what I write is good, it’s from God. You may see notes to 'Actors, Models & Talent for Christ.' If you think you're not in show business, think again. Shakespeare said, 'All the world's a stage and all its men and women merely players.’ Mostly true. But you're not merely players. You are messengers and ambassadors for the King of kings.
