Poor People: Our Gates
Lift up your heads, O gates! And be lifted up, O ancient doors, that the King of glory may come in. Who is this King of glory? The Lord, strong and mighty, the Lord, mighty in battle! Lift up your heads, O gates! And lift them up, O ancient doors, that the King of glory may come in. Who is this King of glory? The Lord of hosts, He is the King of glory!
Psalm 24:7-10 (ESV)
Rich neighborhoods, protecting residents, have FANCY GATES and security guards.
Luxe mansions, protecting celebrities, stand impressively behind IRON-CLAD GATES.
Wealthy nations, protecting their borders, have FRIGHTENING GATES with Border Patrols.
Ancient China, protecting its culture, built a GREAT WALL WITH GATES to enshroud them!
Today, America (and its allies) seem to be following ancient China:
Growing in passionate nationalism,
Rejecting immigrants and refugees,
Protecting their cultural “purity”!
BUT… purity is only found in Christ. I “get” that the world doesn’t get this truth. But what about Bible-toting Christians? God calls us to extend a welcome mat:
'Your gates will be open continually; They will not be closed day or night' (Isaiah 60:11).
Consider one sobering Parable: “The Rich Man and Lazarus.” It’s SCARY! Jesus shows the hellish consequences found in self-centered isolationism.
But if WE aren't wealthy, where are our gates? Regarding “poor people” approaching us, what are the borders of our involvement? OR…
Has media's vast reach changed everything?
Since Hollywood studios are gated,
Since America owns celebrity,
Since poor fans are hungry for hope and joy…
Our gates now extend unto all nations. As Jesus told us, so it continues.
Actors, models, and talent for Christ,
The Lord made YOU for such a time as this: a time of Entertainment mastery, a time of the naughtiest examples, a time of international warfare, a time of spiritual poverty, and a time of spiritual harvest.
Heart-gates must open, and you hold the key!
'Go through,
Go through the gates!
Prepare the way for the people;
Build up,
Build up the highway!
Take out the stones,
Lift up a banner for the peoples!' (Isaiah 62:10).

NOTE: God is my Ghostwriter. If what I write is good, it’s from God. You may see notes to 'Actors, Models & Talent for Christ.' If you think you're not in show business, think again. Shakespeare said, 'All the world's a stage and all its men and women merely players.’ Mostly true. But you're not merely players. You are messengers and ambassadors for the King of kings.
