All Things: Pale In Comparison To Love

If I speak in the tongues of men or of angels, but do not have love, I am only a resounding gong or a clanging cymbal. If I have the gift of prophecy and can fathom all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have a faith that can move mountains, but do not have love, I am nothing. If I give all I possess to the poor and give over my body to hardship that I may boast, but do not have love, I gain nothing.

Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.

Love never fails.

1 Corinthians 13:1-8 (NIV)

Many things are disturbing to me, like…

  • Greed, apathy, and social injustice.

  • Pastors who don’t look, act, or speak like Christ.

  • 100,000+ war refugees.

  • Naysayers and skeptics who put down dreams.

  • White men who think Jesus was a white man.

  • Christians who harm (not help) ‘The least of these’ (Matthew 25:45). But…

  • Mostly, I’m grieved by my own sometimes sins– like selfishness, fault-finding, and complaint. UGG.

Too often, I fall short and do NOT show… love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, faithfulness, gentleness, and much-needed self-control! Is God unhappy with my skimpy fruit? Can He still love me when my love's lacking?

Incredibly and graciously, GOD LOVES, a superseding, no-matter-what love: a love that continues to perfect me, a love that helps me become my best self.

Actors, models, and talent for Christ:

Hollywood needs Christians who love like God: saints who know they’re not holier than “them”, saints who realize that they’re sinners, too, and “certain” sins aren’t worse than “other” sins. Because… ‘If you have committed one sin you are guilty of all’ (James 2:10).

  • Above every sin we see in others, LOVE REIGNS!

  • Above every Commandment we don’t keep, LOVE REIGNS!

  • It's our King’s top, middle, and bottom line (and my much-needed daily reminder.)

  • Love not only reigns, but also transforms… everything and everyone it touches.

How did Jesus, the Man, defeat Satan? How did He disarm and humiliate evil principalities and powers… as a thorn-crowned King hanging on a Cross?

Love! Because ‘Love never fails’ (1 Corinthians 13:8).

NOTE: God is my Ghostwriter. If what I write is good, it’s from God. You may see notes to 'Actors, Models & Talent for Christ.' If you think you're not in show business, think again. Shakespeare said, 'All the world's a stage and all its men and women merely players.’ Mostly true. But you're not merely players. You are messengers and ambassadors for the King of kings.
