Ambassadors For Christ: Bad News
Noah, a man of the soil, proceeded to plant a vineyard. When he drank some of its wine, he became drunk and lay uncovered inside his tent. Ham, the father of Canaan, saw his father naked and told his two brothers outside…
Genesis 9:20-22 (NIV)
They spread among the Israelites a bad report about the land they had explored. They said, “The land we explored devours those living in it. All the people we saw there are of great size.”
Numbers 13:32 (NIV)
When Noah, 'A preacher of righteousness' (2 Peter 2:5), was found drunk and naked inside his tent, his youngest son (Ham) ran to spread the news. The result? A generational curse was spoken upon Ham's own youngest son, Canaan, which trailed all of his descendants.
When Moses sent Jewish tribal leaders to go and see Canaan, the Promised Land, 10 of 12 reported frightening news. The result? A short wilderness trip was extended to 40 arduous and deadly years.
Bad news is a CURSE that travels quickly, when carried on the wings of a serpent, a.k.a. Satan.*
'Media studies show that bad news far outweighs good news by as much as seventeen negative news reports for every one good news report... We are in a state of 'learned helplessness.' At the worst, continual bad news can stimulate a state of depression, and people who concentrate on all the bad news work themselves up emotionally and become much more likely to make unwise decisions' (Psychology Today).*
If bad news leads to unwise decisions, Satan is fanning a five-alarm fire.
'Consider what a great forest is set on fire by a small spark. The tongue also is a fire, a world of evil among the parts of the body. It corrupts the whole body, sets the whole course of one’s life on fire, and is itself set on fire by hell' (James 3:5-6).
Actors, models, and talent for Christ: modern media is like a mudslide, tornado, and fire--all rolled into one: a disaster of immense proportions, claiming countless millions of precious lives.
At the same time, our Father’s Hand still rules... and, for such a (confusing) time as this, 'The prince of the power of the air' (Ephesians 2:2) is leashed– and can NOT touch your performance!
God's still small Voice WILL be heard NOW through YOU! So fly. Fly high with talent, courage, and finesse into the murky seas of media--and don't be afraid.
Why not?
Because you’re 'Blessed when you go out' (Deuteronomy 28:6).**
You carry God's peace--even in the eye of a hurricane. You will not be moved.

** ‘The righteous will never be moved; he will be remembered forever. He is not afraid of bad news; his heart is firm, trusting in the Lord’ (Psalm 112:6-7).
** ‘Do not grieve like the rest of mankind, who have no hope’ (1 Thessalonians 4:13)

NOTE: God is my Ghostwriter. If what I write is good, it’s from God. You may see notes to 'Actors, Models & Talent for Christ.' If you think you're not in show business, think again. Shakespeare said, 'All the world's a stage and all its men and women merely players.’ Mostly true. But you're not merely players. You are messengers and ambassadors for the King of kings.
