Ambassadors For Christ: Haman v. Mordecai *
When Mordecai left the king’s presence, he was wearing royal garments of blue and white, a large crown of gold and a purple robe of fine linen. And the city of Susa held a joyous celebration. For the Jews, it was a time of happiness and joy, gladness and honor.
Esther 8:15-16 (NIV)
The Book of Esther is a love story.
It stars Esther, a simple Jewish girl, who won the heart of King Ahasuerus in a royal beauty competition– and was forced to make a frightening choice…
Also, Mordecai, her older cousin, who raised the orphaned girl as his daughter– in Persia, where Jews were looked down upon (so he told Esther to hide her background)...
And a conniving villain named Haman, the king's advisor, who hated the Jews and hatched an evil plan of genocide. He didn’t realize Esther was Jewish.
Haman spun a defamation campaign and convinced the king to make it a law: In one year's time, all the Jews would be killed and all of their property legally confiscated by their Persian neighbors.
Esther’s cousin, Mordecai, protested. His campaign was public, loud, and bitter. He gained support for the cause of the Jews--especially the “secret Jew,” Esther. She was called to put her own life at risk… to save the lives of many– and she did.
The king was convinced. Haman was exposed, and the Jews were saved. Mordecai became the king’s advisor, and a new decree was issued and spread:
'In the name of King Ahasuerus, sealed it with the king’s signet ring, and sent letters by couriers on horseback, riding on royal horses bred from swift steeds' (Esther 8:10). The Jews would triumph!
Actors, models, and talent for Christ:
Consider 5 lessons from this story:
PR changes lives and every word counts.
Satan wants to “sink” your reputation,
'Only be strong and very courageous' (Joshua 1:7).
'Be as wise as serpents' (Matthew 10:16) and outsmart him.
God is on your side. In the end, Truth wins!

NOTE: God is my Ghostwriter. If what I write is good, it’s from God. You may see notes to 'Actors, Models & Talent for Christ.' If you think you're not in show business, think again. Shakespeare said, 'All the world's a stage and all its men and women merely players.’ Mostly true. But you're not merely players. You are messengers and ambassadors for the King of kings.
