Impossible Healings: No Such Thing
Beloved, I pray that you may prosper in all things and be in health, just as your soul prospers.
3 John 1:2 (NKJV)
I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly.
John 10:10 (NKJV)
With men this is impossible, but with God all things are possible.
Matthew 19:26 (NKJV)
For everything created by God is good, and nothing is to be rejected if it is received with gratitude; for it is sanctified by means of the Word of God and prayer.
1 Timothy 4:4-5 (NASB)
For God, just one thing is impossible: 'It is impossible for God to lie' (Hebrews 6:18). Therefore, when Jesus said He came to give us abundant life, it's totally true. His healing Words are totally true, too.
Then why are many Christians weak and sick?
'He who eats and drinks in an unworthy manner eats and drinks judgment to himself, not discerning the Lord's Body. For this reason many are weak and sick among you' (1 Corinthians 11:29-30).
Meaning?
Scholars say it’s about the Lord’s Supper. When we approach Him irreverently, the consequences may be disastrous.
What about “worthless” foods, as in “junk food?”
Foods altered from their Creator’s design.
Foods that taste good, but are clearly harmful.
Surely they DO invite illness and pain. We’re warned not to tempt God with foolish risks.
SIDEBAR: What about when we can’t buy “organic”, and cheaper, processed food is all we’ve got? If we thank God anyway, He’ll cleanse it!
With this being said, 3 things are certain:
Communion demands utter reverence. We mustn’t make light of this fellowship.
Eating junk (by choice) is risky business. Why would God save us from willful mistakes?
True believers will certainly BE HEALED: slowly or quickly, on Earth or beyond.
2nd SIDEBAR: The way we handle our health challenges, especially in tough situations, can provide a remarkable witness of grace under extraordinary stress.
As for healings labeled “impossible”... By God’s Hand, there is no such thing.

NOTE: This is a 2023 update of a 2013 Carey Lewis Devotion. You may see notes to 'Actors, Models & Talent for Christ.' If you think you're not in show business, think again. Shakespeare said, 'All the world's a stage and all its men and women merely players. Mostly true. But you're not merely players. You are messengers and ambassadors for the King of kings.
