Sermon On The Mount: 3 Big Chapters
In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.
John 1:1 (NKJV)
He was clothed with a robe dipped in blood, and His Name is called The Word of God.
Revelation 19:13 (NKJV)
The Word of the Lord endures forever.
1 Peter 1:25 (NKJV)
If you abide in Me, and My Words abide in you, you will ask what you desire, and it shall be done for you.
John 15:7 (NKJV)
Reading the Bible brings revelation. Hearing It brings faith. Speaking It brings strength. Praying It brings God. Doing It brings freedom and lasting life--to you and others. It's a simple truth.
'But I fear, lest somehow, as the serpent deceived Eve by his craftiness, so your minds may be corrupted from the simplicity that is in Christ' (2 Corinthians 11:3).
Reading a Daily Devotion won't suffice.
Hearing a weekly sermon won’t transform.
Nor will speaking words of affirmation.
Praying without a full heart is futile.
Sitting in complacency is sinful.
Actors, models, and talent for Christ, if I could give you one take-home message, it would be this:
Read your Bible daily and faithfully, like a disciplined athlete on a course.
If you're skiing in a World Cup slalom– or running an Olympic marathon, you wouldn’t consider taking shortcuts… Since if you miss a post or get off track, you're disqualified:(
So don’t miss the upward calling of God by following celebrity pastors who cut and edit short clips of God’s Word.
If you pick a Verse here and a Verse there... You're everywhere--but are you behind Him? You may lose His way, context, or meaning.
Can’t God speak through anyone, anytime? Of course! But He's likely to speak to you on the path He’s already provided: His inspired Word in His perfect order (and no one else's.)
'It is written, 'Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every Word that proceeds from the Mouth of God.' ' (Matthew 4:4). Note the Word, 'every.' Not a few, not some.
I've been writing about the Lord’s movement in entertainment since 2008. As a late-in-life committed Christian, I'm not qualified by worldly standards. I barely attended church as a child, and I wasn’t raised among believers.
Could my lack of religious instruction be a reason God chose me and my house? Who taught m to write? His Word and Spirit. They were and ARE my primary Teachers.
They should be YOUR primary Teachers, too. Please consider re-reading the Sermon on the Mount in Matthew 5-7. I ask God’s personal revelation… by HIS Word of HIS purpose in YOUR life.

NOTE: This is a 2023 update of a 2013 Carey Lewis Devotion. You may see notes to 'Actors, Models & Talent for Christ.' If you think you're not in show business, think again. Shakespeare said, 'All the world's a stage and all its men and women merely players. Mostly true. But you're not merely players. You are messengers and ambassadors for the King of kings.
