Goodbye Year! What To Forget
Do not remember the former things, nor consider the things of old. Behold, I will do a new thing, Now it shall spring forth; Shall you not know it?
Isaiah 42:18-19 (NKJV)
Clearly, God doesn’t want us “looking back.” He decrees forgiving and FORGETTING. What should we deliberately forget from this year, and if needed… prior years?
1) Forget the sins of others against you (or people you love). Why? We’re sinners, too! 'There is none righteous, no, not one' (Romans 3:10); 'All our righteous acts are like filthy rags' (Isaiah 64:6).
2) Forget old debts and debtors who owe you. 'Forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors' (Matthew 6:12); 'Whoever takes away your coat, do not withhold your shirt from him either' (Luke 6:29).
3) Forget offenses and painful events. 'One thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind and reaching forward to those things which are ahead. I press toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus' (Philippians 3:13-14).
4) Forget the sins and mistakes of strangers. 'Father, forgive them, for they do not know what they do' (Luke 23:34). 'Whoever slaps you on your right cheek, turn the other to him also' (Matthew 5:39).
5) Forget gloating about past achievements. 'What things were gain to me, these I have counted loss for Christ... for Whom I have suffered the loss of all things, and count them as rubbish, that I may gain Christ' (Philippians 3:7-8).
6) Forget your old “before Christ” way of life. 'If anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away' (2 Corinthians 5:17). 'No one, having put his hand to the plow, and looking back, is fit for the kingdom of God' (Luke 9:62).
7) Forget your OWN mistakes and should-have-done’s. They don't count anymore. You’re forgiven. If you mess up again, fess up again. 'If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness' (1 John 1:9).
8) KEEP forgetting the sins of your loved ones, with graciousness, as often as needed. ' 'Lord, how often shall my brother sin against me, and I forgive him? Up to seven times?' Jesus said to him, 'I do not say to you, up to seven times, but up to seventy times seven' ' (Matthew 18:21-22).
Actors, models, and talent for Christ:
You’re a glorious, new generation born of the old… for such a time as this. Never let the enemy turn your face, hands, feet, or heart in any direction but forward and upward. As for anything else? Forget about it!

NOTE: God is my Ghostwriter. If what I write is good, it’s from God. You may see notes to 'Actors, Models & Talent for Christ.' If you think you're not in show business, think again. Shakespeare said, 'All the world's a stage and all its men and women merely players.’ Mostly true. But you're not merely players. You are messengers and ambassadors for the King of kings.
