Skeptics: The Family Kind
Jesus entered a house, and again a crowd gathered, so that he and his disciples were not even able to eat. When His family heard about this, they went to take charge of Him, for they said, “He is out of His Mind.”
Mark 3:20-21 (NIV)
For even His Own brothers did not believe in Him.
John 7:5 (NIV)
When Eve preferred the word of a serpent, and Adam preferred the word of his wife (both times above the Word of their Father)… family priorities got twisted.
Similar entanglements continue. Because forgetting the Word of the Lord… is like unplugging an extension cord, squinching it up, stuffing it in a box– and on occasion, trying to use it.
It’s twisted, which means, you get twisted, too.
WARNING: Disconnection from God invites tangles.
Consider unplugged family members in the Bible:
Cain got crazy-jealous and killed Abel.
Lot got greedy and blew-off Abraham.
Sarah got antsy and reaped Ishmael.
Jacob got devious and tricked Esau.
Joseph's brothers got hateful and sold him.
God’s children got cranky and scorned Moses.
David's son got proud and staged a revolt.
Christ’s brothers got surprised and doubted Him.
Peter got scared and denied His Savior.
The most disastrous group disconnect? God's chosen people rebelled against Him and got adulterous--with foreign gods.
When Jesus came, a new time came with Him. He fulfilled God's Law--then simplified It.
' 'You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind.’ This is the first and great Commandment. And the Second is like It: ‘You shall love your neighbor as yourself.’ On these two Commandments hang all the Law and the Prophets' (Matthew 22:37-40).
To demonstrate these two priorities, He let HIMSELF be hung upon a Cross.
Jesus realigned family values… in an uncomfortable directive:
'He who loves father or mother more than Me is not worthy of Me. And he who loves son or daughter more than Me is not worthy of Me' (Matthew 10:37).
Actors, models, and talent for Christ:
The most difficult skeptics to ignore are often found in your own family. But don’t let them stop or misdirect you. To do so disrespects your True Father.
He realizes your deep love for them. Even so, He loves them more than you do. If your destiny compels you forward, go without regret.
Who knows?
Your walk may prompt them to begin their own.
Conclusion:
Remain encouraged! As Jacob, Joseph, and Jesus showed us, God loves to reassemble families--so their ending is better than their start.

NOTE: God is my Ghostwriter. If what I write is good, it’s from God. You may see notes to 'Actors, Models & Talent for Christ.' If you think you're not in show business, think again. Shakespeare said, 'All the world's a stage and all its men and women merely players. Mostly true. But you're not merely players. You are messengers and ambassadors for the King of kings. This series is a re-write of a prior 2014 series.
