The Question Of Salvation: The Answer? ‘Follow Me’
Blessed are those who do His Commandments, that they may have the right to the tree of life, and may enter through the gates into the city.
Revelation 22:14 (NKJV)
The world is passing away, and the lust of it; but he who does the will of God abides forever.

I believe…
The question of salvation is summed up in two words spoken by Christ 19 times:
‘Follow me.’
Yes, we must have faith. 'For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life' (John 3:16).
But works are faith’s proof, as works are faith’s fruit: fruit others may eat and also be saved.
'To him who overcomes, I give him the right to eat from the tree of life' (Revelation 2:7).
Because 'Even the demons believe' (James 2:19) in Jesus, but their faith won't get them into Heaven.
Therefore…
Unless we're babies in Christ, we must work. 'Work out your own salvation with fear and trembling' (Philippians 2:12). 'If anyone will not work, neither shall he eat' (2 Thessalonians 3:10).
Father and Son work. 'My Father has been working until now, and I have been working' (John 5:17). As for us? Field workers are in demand. 'The harvest is plentiful but the workers are few' (Matthew 9:37).
Since our job as ambassadors of Christ is making disciples of all nations, we must do it well to be effective. Showing your faith in work IS effective.
Because some people just can’t believe words. They need to see PROOF: 'Though you do not believe Me, believe the works, so that you may know and understand that the Father is in Me, and I in the Father' (John 10:38).
Like Thomas, who couldn’t believe Christ rose, even by word of trusted brethren: 'Unless I see the nail marks in His Hands and put my finger where the nails were, and put my hand into His Side, I will not believe' (John 20:25).
So God allowed Thomas to see and touch. God has a plan, and it's called SALVATION.
He’ll work every right angle til it’s done.
‘And this is the will of Him Who sent Me, that everyone who sees the Son and believes in Him may have everlasting life' (John 6:40).
Therefore, follow Jesus diligently for your own safe journey to salvation.
But not JUST for that… Do so that others see Him in your work! THEY, TOO, MIGHT BE SAVED. What glorious fruit!
'By this all men will know that you are My disciples, if you have love for one another' (John 13:35).

NOTE: This is a 2023 update of a 2013 Carey Lewis Devotion. You may see notes to 'Actors, Models & Talent for Christ.' If you think you're not in show business, think again. Shakespeare said, 'All the world's a stage and all its men and women merely players. Mostly true. But you're not merely players. You are messengers and ambassadors for the King of kings.
